Files

The tree shows each folder as it is on the machine and follows changes made there. Open a file to read or edit it; images, video and audio play in the tab. Saving checks the file was not changed on the machine since you opened it, and asks instead of overwriting.

Upload by dropping files on a folder; download from the right-click menu.

Copies between machines

Drag a file or folder from one machine's folder to another's, or select it and choose Copy to… (on a phone too). The destination pulls it straight from the source, not through your browser, and checks every chunk.

A copy survives a cut: if either machine drops off, it waits and carries on from where it was when both are back. Transfers lists copies with their speed and path:

• direct — the two machines reached each other;
• relayed — a network blocked that, and a relay carries it, encrypted end to end;
• via this browser — an older agent, or no path between the machines within 45 seconds.

Copies inside one local network go over a direct encrypted connection on that network.
