Add your first machine

A machine is any computer you want to reach from the browser: a laptop, a server, a Raspberry Pi. You run one command on it, and the console confirms it with your passkey or recovery code. It takes about a minute.

Make an account

Open tilder.run and choose Create an account. There is no password: this browser gets a key it can never hand out, and you save a recovery code (and, if your browser offers one, a passkey) to get back in from anywhere else.

Keep the recovery code somewhere safe. It is the only way back in if you lose every device.

Copy the command

Open Machines and choose Add machine, then pick the machine's system. The console shows one command. It works once, for ten minutes.

On Linux and macOS it looks like this:

The command checks the install script against a hash the console itself carries, and the script checks the agent the same way. A server you do not trust cannot hand you anything else.

Run it on the machine

Paste it into a terminal on that machine, as your own user. No sudo: the agent runs as you, starts again at every login, and asks for no open ports.

It prints connected: confirm this machine in the console when it is done.

Confirm it

Back in the console the machine appears within seconds. Choose Confirm and use your passkey or recovery code. From then on the machine trusts only your devices.

Then add a folder from it to a workspace, or open a terminal on it straight away.
