Workspaces

A workspace is a set of folders from any of your machines, shown as one tree: laptop:~/src/web next to build-01:~/api. Make as many as you like and switch with one click in the left column; each keeps its own tabs and layout, on every device you sign in from.

To add a folder, choose Add a folder from a machine, pick the machine, and type or paste a path. Remove from Workspace takes it out of the tree; nothing on the machine changes.

Terminals

Open a terminal with + on the tab bar, Alt+T, the tree's right-click menu (Open in Terminal), or the command palette (Ctrl+K, then @machine).

A shell runs on the machine, not in the tab. Close the tab, lose the network or reload the page, and it keeps running; the tab picks up where it was, with what it printed meanwhile. An update of the agent does not end it either.

When a shell is open on two devices, the one that types last decides its size, and the other draws at that size with Use this size to take it back.

On a phone

The same workspaces, one pane at a time. A terminal has a line to type into and a row of the keys a phone keyboard lacks (Esc, Tab, Ctrl, arrows). Long-press selects a word; pinch changes the font size.
